Write to a group of people who disagree with many of your core beliefs. Imagine that these people genuinely want to do good and have sincere reasons for believing what they do. Do your best to have empathy and respect for them. After reading your excellent portrait, a few of these people may be persuaded to think differently. Most of your readers will not change their beliefs, but some will have gained understanding and empathy — this is your primary objective.
